Ms SQL Server 2000 Installation Problem

Hi all

when installing MS SQL Server 2k i got these errors :

'This program is used internally by PackageFromTheWeb. It should no be executed directly.' (displays 2 times)

... and at the end of setup .. :

'Setup failed to configure the server. Refer to the server error logs and F:\WINNT\sqlstp.log for more information.'

i have also MSDE installed from visual studio.net

anyone got similar problem ?, anyone has an idea how to cope with this ?

thx in advance

in attachment i include sqlstp.logOriginally posted by krotuski
'This program is used internally by PackageFromTheWeb...
'Setup failed to configure the server. see F:\WINNT\sqlstp.log for more information.'
i have also MSDE installed from visual studio.net

I could only find these 2 error messages that relate to the 2nd error message of the issue you reported.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;305680

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;285100

As for the first Message, I couldn't find anything relating to PackageFromTheWeb. Hope the other 2 help.

As a suggestion, I would suggest doing a backup before attempting anything relating to data manipulation/upgrade.

I also noticed a couple of issues related to upgrading MSDE to SQL server 2000 so be prepared for problems and have your backups handy :)|||thx for answer, but none of these were the cause of a problem, anyway, thx for replying|||Did you determine what the problem was, I am getting the same error.
Thanks|||I have msde and SQL personal edition running simultaniously on my xp development box at home so I don't think there should be a problem running both. I use named instances. computername\msde and computername\sql2000
