has anyone had sucess in troubleshooting conflicts between these two?
I need to shut down the sybase client on a machine that is running MS SQL if thats possible. They generally co-exist rather peacefully once you get them settled down. The newcomer always seems to ruffle the feathers of the established resident on any given machine, but they can learn to live in peace in most circumstances.
What kind of problems are you having?
-PatP|||We're trying to install MS SQL on a machine that only has the Sybase SQL client (not the server) and it throws an error during the MS SQL install saying that it cannot find odbcbcp.dll.
So i'm wondering if shutting down the Sybase SQL client will make that dll file available/usable.|||BCP is one of few facilities common to both engines. Make sure that any Sybase-related services are shut down before you start the install.
