I am getting error 1802, CREATE DATABASE failed. Some file
names listed could not be created. Check previous errors.
I have Windows 2000 professional installed on my PC.
I am installing remedy 5.1 that uses MSSQL server 7 and I
am getting the error above on remedy instalation...
Any idea'

messages and you really need those error messages to see what the problem
is.

MS SQL server login failed
I have MS SQL server desktop version installed localy and I have been using
it till last time I had to change my windows XP password. After that I could
not start service and I am getting an error message: "The service did not
start due to a logon failure", and "An error 1069 - The service did not start
due to a logon failure) occured while perfrorming this service operation on
the MSSQLServer service".
I have installed MS SQL server and configured to use Windows authentication,
and it worked in the past. Few months ago I have downloaded windows updates
and since then whenever I change windows password I have problem logging in
MS SQL.
Is there a way to fix that problem without reinstalling MS SQL?

Administrative Tools. Check the Logon tab for the
MSSQLSERVER service to see what login is being used.
If you are using your login, you need to change the password
for the MSSQLSERVER service also whenever you change your

MS SQL Server 2000 destop engine install fails

This is a weird one.
Trying to install the MS SQL Server 2000 desktop engine but it fails without
error. In fact, the installer goes through the motions of installing and
then unwinds the install; the progress bar goes backwards?
setup.exe SAPWD="1232"
Any ideas?

setup to debug the problem. Below is a section of the readme that applies
and an example of the syntax of your setup string:
Requesting a Setup Log
You will need a verbose log to verify that the installation succeeded or to
assist in debugging any problems that occur.
To generate a verbose log, specify /L*v <LogFileName>. <LogFileName> is the
name of a log file where Setup will record all of its actions. If you do not
specify a path as part of the name, the log file is created in the current
folder. If you are executing Setup from a compact disc, you must specify the
full path to a folder on the hard disk of your computer.
This example creates a log file, MSDELog.log, in the root folder of the C:
drive:
setup SAPWD="AStrongSAPassword" /L*v C:/MSDELog.log

MS SQL Express Advanced vs MS SQL full version vs MySQL
I'm planning to transport a desktop application to the web. A spin-off of
this application has already been put on the web by another programmer. He
used ColdFusion with MS SQL, Access, VC, and Java. It is faster than the
desktop application (written in VFP).
1. Can I get the same results using MS SQL Express Advanced and Access for
the internet version if used with .net?
2. Are the select statements limited in power, accuracy, size, etc. for MS
SQL Express Advanced when compared to SQL?
3. If Access will perform poorly, can VFP be used instead with .net? I
already know it can't be used with ColdFusion. 4. If MS Express Advanced
will not sufficiently replace SQL, will MySQL do the job better?
Probably. But you could also get worse performance. It's difficult to
answer, because it depends on how you do the implementation. DB engines
are extremely powerful tools to make things to really slow if you don't
do things right.
Compared to what? If you mean if there are limitations in SQL Express
vs. the paid-for editions of SQL Server, the answer is, yes, there are
some limitations, but it is not all likely that you will suffer from
them.
Those questions are completely beyond the scope for this newsgroup,

MS SQL 2005 SP2 x64 & SSIS Packages
On my local desktop, I can create and run ssis packages, when I try to do the same thing on server I get he following error right clicking on running packages or stored packages.
failed to retrieve data for this request. Library not Registered. (exception from HRESULT: 0x8002801D
there are 2 instances of SQL on this server. Both are named with one being use by SQLExpress and the other by SQL2005 Std
Give this a try; Integration Services installs just once no matter how many instances are installed on the machine. For the instance you are wishing to work with you can change the instance viewed by modifying C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\MsDtsSrvr.ini.xml
Change the entry below to match your instance name.
--Prior to change
<ServerName>.</ServerName>
--After change
<ServerName>MySQLServer\MySQLInstancename</ServerName>
