MS SQL SERVER 2005 SSL ISSUE

Hi Friends,
I would be highly grateful if anyone can provide a solution for the
following :
There is a MS-SQL server hosted on a machine which is our data server.
We need to access this data server through many client machines. To
secure the data exchange between client(s) & Data server we use
JSECURE Client for SSL communication. But this secures the channel
between client machine and the machine on which my MS -SQL server
is hosted. Once the data is received on server machine, JSECURE
decrypts the data and sends to the data server. Now if I enable the
SSL
on MS-SQL server , I guess my communication would fail because I
don't
know which algorithms are being used by MS-SQL server & JSECURE
to encrypt their respective data's. So , in this case I need a bridge
between
these two ( Precisely a TRANSLATOR which understands both - JSECURE
& MS-SQL SERVERS).
Please let me know if any such solution exists. Thanks a lot to you
all friends!!Move the file share which the JSECURE connects to, to another machine.

Thanksa lot for the response , being a newbie in this area I was unable to
understand your short comment , kindly elaborate a little whenever you
get some time. Also please have a look on my another post with subject

specifically for the purpose of being the JSECURE file server. This will
allow database connections to occure normally.
You can also call the company which made JSECURE and ask them if they have a
way to make it work with Microsoft SQL Server hosted on the same server.

MS SQL SERVER 2005 BUG? Cannot insert NULL into column diagram_id

Hi friends,
when trying to save a diagram I got an error:
The sp_creatediagram procedure attempted to return a status of NULL, which is not allowed.
Whats with this??I had the same issue an just fixed it by turning the "diagram_id" field in SysDiagrams table to "identitity".

I dropped the table and ran the following script.

CREATE TABLE [dbo].[sysdiagrams](
[name] [nvarchar](128) COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS NOT NULL,
[principal_id] [int] NOT NULL,
[diagram_id] [int] identity(1,1),
[version] [int] NULL,
[definition] [varbinary](max) NULL
) ON [PRIMARY]

It worked.

MS SQL 2005 and PDC Confusion

hello everyone, I am kind of confused with MS SQL 2005. I have friends who have been developing with MS SQL. They told me that in order to have a MS SQL Server, one need to have a PDC.

This is really a problem since I am behind a Unix box acting as a firewall/gateway. AFAIK, to install a PDC means that DHCP comes with it and DNS. This is really a problem...

Is it possible to have a MS SQL server without having to create a PDC? If so, how do I connect to my database on an MS SQL server. I develop in VB. I would appreciate any help/tips... TIA :D

You don′t need a PDC, you will need a domain only if you want to do WIndows authentication along with more than one computer. Otherwise you can use SQL Server authentication.
